I think it's definitely time to start rewarding companies that are doing the right thing and not the ones that take the cheap, greedy way out by using fillers AND testing on defenseless animals, especially when animal testing for skincare and nutrition products is outdated and NOT necessary!

As an animal lover, I do care if the products I use were tested on animals or not.  And if you don't care about that, you may care about all the harmful ingredients you're putting in/on your body every day.  Many products are pumped with fillers that are dangerous to our health, not to mention gross with all the animal by-products.  That definitely can’t be good for us now or in the long run!  And if you don't care about that, then I'm sure you care about spending $$$ on items that don't even work!

Arbonne International has a real humane way of doing business...something I don't see from many companies, especially in this world where animals are looked at as profit.
Arbonne offers over 400 cruelty-free items (10 different lines of products) from nutrition to anti-aging to sun care and much more!!
There is something for everyone.

Joining Arbonne can also be a wise choice, whether you're a college student, a working woman, a businessman, a stay-at-home mom, etc...
If you're tired of working for someone else or being broke or working long hours or driving an annoying commute or hardly seeing your kids, then email me, and I'll show you how to make full-time money working part-time hours!!

I sorry you feel that animal should not be forced in a caged, they should go around and walk like human being is walking around. animal don't know what's right and animal were not made to live like just human, can you image a snake, tiger, lion, bear, wolf running around while little kids are playing in the park. animal should not have right because they don't know right from wrong.

  71. This blog was extremely informational. I can not believe some of the companies that use products tested on animals or products used with animal by-products that I use in my daily life. It really made me step back and pay more attention to my choices i'm making at the store. For me, being an animal lover, it is important that I use products that I know aren't being tested on animals. This definitely opened up my eyes.

  72. I don't believe ANY company should be rewarded for not using animals for testing. This is yet another way they get some kind of financial reward, for what they should be doing anyway. I believe any company that still uses animals should be find every day, to the point that they either quit using animals or they close their doors. Look, there has to be a STATEMENT made when it comes to this, and that is stop on your own or we will force you to stop. If you got to drive a wedge between them and there finances, well so be it.

  74. I think it is great that Arbonne International doesn't use animal testing. Not only are they animal conscious, they have great products! When reading through the list of companies that do use animal testing, it's unnerving to think of what they could need animals for. For instance, one of the products is Drano; I cannot think of any possible thing that could involve animals with this product. It is easy to see that a lot of the testing is not only unnecessary, but simply careless. It is very easy to exclude these products from my everyday life, however, I fear that there are many more that are unlisted slipping through the cracks. In order to completely abolish the use of animal testing, we must make every effort to make it illegal.

I never understood why companies test on animals especially cosmetic companies. I never thought to myself while purchasing make-up "Im so glad they tested this mascara on a rat first now I know it's safe for me to buy!" I would think with all the research the companies do these days they could find other ways to make sure their products are safe for consumers..

    ReplyDelete
  82. I think that animal testing is gross. It doesn't make any sense to me to test something for humans on something that is non human. I am sure that for minimal cost they could find willing humans to test their products.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Animals are completely different than humans, so to me it doesn't make sense why animals are being used in the first place. Not only is it cruel, but animals and humans have a different anatomy. There have been many problems with animal testing, and many situations where a product has affected a human differently than it affected an animal. It only makes sense that a human be used to test products made for humans. A product could work completely different on animal compared to a human.

I agree with most of you. I don't understand the logic of testing products on animals before we use them. How is a human and an animal similar, besides, both being mammals? I know many products that say tested on animals. I never thought twice about that until this blog.

  87. There is NO reason for testing on animals. It isn't even accurate. Human's skin is different than animals. There are many other alternatives to testing on innocent animals. There is artificial skin that resembles human skin and reacts very similarly to real skin. Also, now a days people will do anything for money. Companies could pay people to try their products. It may cost a little extra but it will be worth not harming all those animals.

I am not in favor of being cruel to animals but in some cases the tests they did on animals are how we are able to live longer. Animal testing has helped create drugs for HIV, Parkinsons, and heart disease. Again it might not be the best method but again the alternative is using humans.

  104. After testing on animals for so many years, companies should have knowledge about what chemicals to use for the making of their products and what chemicals not to use. I would feel better knowing a medication or treatment has been animal tested than no testing at all.

  123. I do not believe animal testing is needed. Animal skin is similar but not identical to human, therefore just because an animal doesn't react to the product doesn't mean it will not when it comes to a human. If the effects could be harmful and doubtful of being beneficial to a human why try it on an animal.

Companies that use chemicals are required by the government agencies that oversee them to do certain tests on animals; NHI, FDA CDC etc. The products on the do not test lists don't have chemicals that require this testing.

  128. It is a great thing that these companies do not test on animals. In this day and age we are able to determine or have some inkling on whether a chemical will be harmful to another living thing. Unfortunaltly there are some products that still have to be tested on living subjects and in those cases they are done on animals. It is a hard thing to say but it is better done on an animal to make sure it is safe for human usage. Though I would have these companies limit the usage of trial substances on each individual animal and to make sure that any "harmfull" side effects that do occur, the animal will be properly treated and returned to health. When you talk about fillers in foods, the FDA is supposed to regulate that. If they aren't doing their job and we as the public continue to buy the products then we are all at fault. That also brings up another issue that if it is so important to us to live a certain way, we would all do our research and buy according to our moral standards. We are lucky to have the freedom to make those choices and to have the availability of products to make those choices.

  144. Using animals of whatever kind to preform experimental drug lab tests for whatever need is very cruel in nature. Most if not all lab tests, have very adverse if not terminal side effects to this is animals. There has to be an alternative to this. Whatever Arbonne International is doing to implement their strategy not use live animals, should be adapted by different drug companies that still employ use of animals for testing purposes. I agree, companies like Arbonne International should be certainly in some way, recognized for their considerate measures.

  145. I think it is ridiculous to use animals for testing purposes. Especially considering you can get a person who is willing to be the test subject for just about anything now a days. 149. I think it is apparent that testing on animals is wrong. It is unfair because animals do not have a voice, humans must be their voice. They feel just as much as us, or any other living and breathing being. So why do individuals put them through testing that could include pain and suffering? Are the products necessary? If you're testing for a product you would not trust to test on yourself, don't test it on an animal. It is cruel and unfair and I couldn't even imagine the cries and pain these poor animals have to go through. How any being could sit through that and be okay with what their doing makes my stomach turn.

I agree that it should be on the government to regulate companies that participate in animal testing. And I think companies who don't participate in animal testing should be something other companies can learn a lot from. 155. Recently saw a friend of mine on facebook advertising Arbonne...did not know anything about them before, but this information makes me feel good. Glad to know there are some businesses out there that care to do things the right way. Really appreciate the link to the list of businesses that do not test on animals. Thanks!

  156. I honestly thought that there were no longer companies that tested on animals. I even thought that there were rules and regulations against it. That just goes to show how naïve and un-educated the world is. It should definitely be brought under control. I like what Arbonne is all about.

  157. I knew that many companies advertised that they no longer tested animals, but I didn't realize how may products are really out there that were not tested on animals! After seeing the kinds of abuse that animals endure throughout testing, I really wish companies would wake up and see that is not the way to make money! if everyone saw what happens in labs, I bet they would change the products they use. Arbonne is definitely something to share!

  158. I have seen several products with a little label that said that the product was not tested on animals. I always thought that was great because I love animals. I think that it is terrible to take an animal out of its natural habit to put it in lab to test on it. Companies that still test on animals need to realize that. More people should know what Arbonne is all about.

  159. when you thing of major animal cruelty you think of china, and Mexico, But it here in our homes too I just went through a whole list of everyday items that are in my house and a lot of them involved animal testing. I hard to think of all the-the pain that an animal had to go through for the making of your favorite vanilla scented lotion.

  160. I for one agree with Mrs. Norbeck's statement that animal testing is so out of date so why continue. Well for most they are stuck on the old rule if it isn't broke don't fix it, well this logic is broke. I look at it like this we are human and have different types of skin and skin conditions, animals although mammals and are warm blooded are covered in fur and what not. How could testing my make up on them advise you how soft and luxurious my skin will be, my face isn't covered with hair. That animal doesn't have excema like me so how exactly does the company know it will work for me. Just because it didn't break "thumper" out doesn't mean I'll have the same outcome. With all the new technology and what not this practice should actually be made illegal now.

  161. I have no idea why animal testing is still being used as a reliable method of research, especially when there are dozens of other more effective tests that can be used (which are also cheaper than using poor animals). I also think more people should understand that just because it didn't kill an animal, doesn't mean it won't kill you! How can you truly know what a product does to a human if it wasn't tested on human cells!?

  162. It is shocking to see how these animals are treated. It's like we know animals are treated bad, but when you start to see images, and videos the reality sinks in. I won't be attending any shows anytime soon. I best way to have a strong voice is to simply not attend events, and try to help other people see it your way. The less people that attend the less money they make, and maybe that will have some impact on how they treat their animals.

  163. This is a very good point you bring up. These companies that go out of their way to make and test products without animal abuse or cruelty should be rewarded. They are doing a great thing and should be noticed for it. Next time i think about purchasing new products, i will definitely keep this in mind and try to make sure I buy products that don't use animal testing. Brandon S.
